IAH or Hobby: know which Houston airport your itinerary uses

Houston has two major passenger airports: George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU). IAH is the primary long-haul international gateway, while Hobby also serves domestic and selected international markets. Always verify the airport code before arranging parking, transfers or a hotel near the airport.

Check your international check-in terminal before arrival

Houston Airports changed some international check-in locations in 2026 as the IAH terminal redevelopment progressed. Air France, KLM and Lufthansa were among airlines moved to Terminal E for check-in, while gate and lounge arrangements can still vary. Use nonstop routes when they improve the whole trip

A nonstop flight can reduce connection risk and simplify baggage handling, but it is not automatically the best choice. Compare the total fare, departure time, arrival time, baggage allowance, change conditions and ground transport at the destination.

Plan airport transport before you land

Compare public transportation, rideshare, taxis, hotel transfers and car rental based on the destination and time of arrival. A cheap flight can become inconvenient if the arrival airport creates an expensive or very long transfer to the hotel.
